Chapter 11 "Pheonix"

"Wait, what does this mean?" Kari said to Jenna as she showed everyone the note in the morning.

"Isnt it obvious!?" Jenna was freaking out. "Killing Mia and Hollie isnt enough! This... This FREAK is after all of us!!"

"Havent we known this from the very beginning?" Adrian tried to calm Jenna; to no avail, of course.

"I thought Mia was the end of it..." Jenna sat on the couch and curled up into a ball, starting to cry "It's been two months..."

"Two of the hardest months of my life..." Travis looked at Kari and smiled. She helped pull him out of his depression in one night, and he really did love her. She was one of the best things that has happened to him, ever since Mia.

Kari grabbed Travis's hand. "So, are we going to try and catch the killer, again?"

Travis looked at Kari like she was crazy. "No! We cant have anyone else get hurt."

"Well, we cant go to the police." Jenna said. "That could cause the killer to react and hurt one of us... So I think we should investigate some more..."

Travis looked angry. "Whatever, fine." He stormed up to his room, and Kari followed.

"Travis, it is okay..." Kari tried to comfort him. "We know not to underestimate them now. We can be more careful."

"Yeah, I guess..." Suddenly, Travis got a phone call. "Hello?" He answered it.

"Hello, Travis?" A girl said. Travis felt a ping of recognation. "Hi, its Marisa. Listen, I have an important favor to ask of you."

"Marisa?!" Travis exclaimed in suprise. "I havent heard from you in a year!"

"Yeah, I know, and Im so sorry I havent called..." Marisa, Travis's high-school ex-girlfriend, said to him.

"No, no, its fine." Travis said. "You needed a favor?"

"Yeah, I know its big, but...." Marisa said. "I'm in town for my birthday, and my parents dont have a room for me, so I was wondering if I could stay with you and your friends for a while."

Travis was shocked. "Marisa, I dont think now is really the best time..."

"Yes, I know what happened to Mia, but, please Travis!" Marisa used that charming voice of hers, and no doubt she was using he cute puppy-dog face on the other end.

"Sigh... Fine, you can stay with us for a little while." Travis gave in.

"Great! Im in the driveway." Marisa said.

Of course. Travis thought. She was right, the doorbell rang immediatly.

Travis went downstaires and answered the door. "Hello, Marisa."

"Hi, Travis!" She replied excitedly.

Chapter 10 "Love's Flame"

Two months later

____________________________________

Travis was lying in his bed, in a depressed slump, just as he has been for the past two months.

"Hey..." Kari walked into his room. She tried her best not to sound sympathetic, but it was hard. It was heart-breaking to see Travis this upset. Kari sat down on his bed, and travis sat up.

"Hello, Kari." Travis said to her. "Do you need something?"

Kari looked at him, putting on her happiest face. "Lets go out in the town!"

Travis looked at her. "No, I really dont wan--"

"C'mon!" Kari interrupted. "Do you think Mia would want you to be sad all the time? She would want you to go out and live!" Kari spoke the truth. She didnt know Mia that well, but she knew this much. Mia loved Travis, and would want him to move on and be happy.

"Sigh, alright." Travis got out of bed. "Where are we going?"

"I dunno, lets see." Kari grabbed Travis by the hand, and ran out of the house, well, mansion she and her friends have been living in the past two and a half months.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jenna was in her room when Adrian walked in.

"Hey!" Jenna smiled. Adrian, Jenna's husband, smiled back. Jenna made Adrian angry when she went to The Funhouse against his will two months ago. She got stuck in a time machine that was sent to the past, but found her way back. By the time she got back, Mia was dead. Adrian hugged her and cried when he found out she was okay.

"Wanna go to dinner?" Adrian asked Jenna.

"Oh, sorry, I have a shoot soon." Jenna said. She was a model, just like Mia and Hollie, her two friends that were, unfortunately, murdered recently. The police had an ongoing investigation, but the friends had decided to do some investigating too, after being threatened by the killer multiple times. Then Mia died, and the notes dwindled into nothing.

"Oh, okay, can I come with you?" Adrian asked. Jenna was suprised. He never asked to go.

"Oh! Alright!" Jenna's face beamed with happiness. She loved being around Adrian. "Let me get my purse, then we can go!"

--------------------------------------

"Really, Kari? A karaoke bar?" Travis sounded annoyed when they walked in.

"Yes, really!" Kari said. "I come here all the time when I'm down, it makes me happy."

Travis's facial expression was hard to read, but it looked like he was pleased. "Whatever makes you happy." He smiled.

"C'mon, lets go sing!" Kari dragged him to the karaoke machine. She searched through the songs, and found one she loved, and thought would help Travis.

"Oh, no..." Travis said when he realized what it was. "The One that Got Away by Katy Perry, really?"

Kari laughed. "C'mon, you gotta sing!"

Reluctantly, Travis started singing with Kari, and they left after about an hour of talking, joking, singing, and eating. It was a really amazing outing.

When they got to the mansion, Travis walked Kari up to her room.

"I had a really great time tonight, Kari." Travis smiled. Kari was happy, Mia was off his mind. At least for now, anyways.

"Me too." Kari looked up at him. Then Travis did something unexpected; He kissed her.

"Im sorry it took me so long." Travis said. "I love you too."

Kari smiled. "You idiot." She said lovingly.

---------------------------------------------------------

At the shoot, Jenna noticed something in her dressing room. It was a note.

Its not over yet.

Chapter 9 "Funhouse"

Kari walked into The Funhouse, agreeing that the group should split up to cover more ground, and, of course, Adrian refused to leave Jenna. Kari walked in, and saw there were Black Lights on, which made her skin look very wierd. She followed the path of Mirrors, and eventually lost the others, which was fine with her. She wasnt in the mood to be around Travis or Mia anyways.

Kari walked up to a sarcophogus, and started to open it. She suddenly got really scared, what if the killer was here? She stopped abruptly, and stepped back. She then took a moment to get her fear in check, and opened it. Empty, of course. She got scared over nothing.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jenna got seperated from Adrian somewhere in the Hall of Mirrors. She kept walking down the path, stumbling into the wall a couple of times, of course. She eventually found her way to a room with a big, gray-ish machine that looked useless and broken.

She tried pressing a few buttons, and the machine's doors whirred open. She stepped inside, and suddenly, someone closed the doors and turned the machine on. She tried screaming for help, but she knew no one could hear her. She remembered seeing this machine before, and she knew what it was...

It was a time machine.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mia had left Travis while he went to investigate another room. She followed the mirrors to the end of the hall, and found her way inide a room with a fake, plastic, glowing ghost, and a see-through glass box.

Mia stepped into the box, and the door was suddenly closed. She turned around and saw someone she didnt know pressing a button on the side.

"Goodbye, Mia." The stranger, most likely Hollie's killer, said.

The box started to fill up with water.

-------------------------------------------------------------

"Help!!!!!" Travis heard Mia scream.

Oh no.

Sound stopped.

Everything blurred.

He started to run.

He ran into Adrian, knocking him down.

He didn't care.

It didn't matter.

All that mattered was Mia.

He had to help her.

He had to save her.

He got into the room, and saw the box. Foggy, full of water, with a body in it...

Mia's body.

He pulled on the door, but it didnt open. So he smashed it, and the door opened and Mia's body poured out.

No sound.

Never any sound.

"No!!!" He screamed. At least, he think he screamed. "No! Mia!" He held her. He held her close. "Its okay... No one can hurt you... I wont let them..." He felt her warmth, and the conflicting coldness of the water.

Kari walked up to him, and it looked like she was trying to comfort him. She was saying something, but he couldn't hear.

"Get away!! Get away!!" He held her, and kissed her forehead.

A little while later the police showed up. He was dragged off of her,  and the paramedics took her body.

"Goodbye, Mia..." Travis whispered.

Chapter 8 "Careful"

Jennas in her room, finding something to wear to The Funhouse. Adrian walks in, looking at Jenna.

"What are you doing?" Adrian says.

"Looking for an Okay outfit to wear." Jenna walks over to him.
"No, I'm not letting you go." Adrian says.

"What? Why!" Jenna was angry.

"It's too dangerous." Adrian said. "I don't want you getting hurt."

"I wont get hurt, it isnt dangerous!" Jenna started yelling "We're all going to leave safe and sound, with the Killer in tow!" She stormed out of the room.

---------------------------------------------------------------

"Mia" Travis called. They were just outside, on the front porch. "I just... I want you to be careful tonight."

Mia smiled "Dont worry, nothing will happen, I promise."

"Okay." Travis said, and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek. "I love you..."

"I love you more." Mia said, and they both went inside.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
That night, they all went to The Funhouse.

They walked in.
